Hollywood Studios is Walt Disney World’s pressure-cooker park: several attractions families care about intensely, immersive lands that deserve time, and enough shows that the smartest plan is not simply “ride everything.”
In 2026 the park is changing quickly. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land remain major anchors, while Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, The Magic of Disney Animation and Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! are part of the current lineup and Monstropolis is moving toward its first openings in 2027.
Decide what kind of Hollywood Studios day you want
A Star Wars fan can spend hours in Galaxy’s Edge without feeling finished. Families with younger children may care more about Toy Story Land, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Disney Jr. and characters. Thrill-focused groups build around Tower of Terror and Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster. Treating all three versions of the park as equal priorities is where the day gets brittle.
Galaxy’s Edge deserves more than a ride window
Rise of the Resistance is the headline, but Galaxy’s Edge works because the land rewards lingering. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run now offers a Mandalorian-and-Grogu mission, and the shops, food and ambient detail are part of the point. If you sprint out after the rides, you are using one of Disney’s most ambitious environments as a queue complex.
Toy Story Land is deceptively demanding
Slinky Dog Dash can dictate a family’s morning if it is a must-do. Toy Story Mania has broad appeal, while Alien Swirling Saucers fills a different niche. Shade is a practical consideration, so early or evening time in Andy’s backyard can be much more pleasant than 2 p.m. in the Florida sun.
Shows are not filler
Hollywood Studios has a deep indoor-show bench. Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage, The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After and family entertainment can turn the middle of the day into something more humane than another outdoor queue. Fantasmic! remains a major reason to stay into the evening.
The park is actively becoming something new
Monstropolis is the clearest future shift, with Disney targeting 2027 for the Monsters, Inc.-inspired land. The Magic of Disney Animation also puts animation itself back into a park that has spent years moving away from its original working-studio identity. That is worth watching beyond the attraction count.
Who needs Lightning Lane most?
This is one of the parks where paid line-skipping can materially change the shape of a day because so many popular attractions sit in the same demand tier. Whether it is worth buying depends on your date, priorities and willingness to arrive early. Buy it when it protects time you have a better use for, not because the park has famous rides.
Keep planning
