Star Wars Reads has returned for October 2026, with Ahmed Best serving as the campaign ambassador and Lucasfilm Publishing tying the month to school outreach, New York Comic Con and a long list of books for every age.
Lucasfilm says the annual campaign is focused on reading, storytelling and community, with Best — known for Jar Jar Binks and Jedi Master Kelleran Beq — engaging with students and readers in the Greater New York area.
There is a literacy component beyond fandom
Disney Publishing is working with First Book to provide eligible educators with Star Wars Reads toolkits and marketplace gift certificates, while Penguin Random House Children’s Books is contributing books to the nonprofit.
New York Comic Con is part of the month
Best is scheduled to join Star Wars talent for a Lucasfilm Publishing panel and signing on October 9, followed by a public signing at Forbidden Planet NYC later that day.
The reading list stretches across the galaxy
Lucasfilm’s official list ranges from young-reader titles to comics, art books and adult novels. Forthcoming October and November titles include Star Wars: Star Pilots, Star Wars Icons: Vader and The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu.
